Dave Bickers’ first competition machine was a 197cc Villiers round tube with swinging arm DOT in c1954. Mr Wade offered him a “Works” ride in 1956. A phone call from Greeves led to them giving him a frame into which they wanted him to install the DOT’s engine, which they thought “special”. Doug Theobald is still competing in trials today, although it’s on a Gas Gas. Doug believes in moving with the times.
